Oh no, not again I sit at my piano and try to stop weeping It's Christmas again The trees are all up and the tinsel is twinkling But I see children out there who have never known Santa And breathe fear as they pray to their god that their lives will get better Let's all get drunk I need a whisky to remind me I'm living Drowned in plastic junk And they say that the joy is all in the giving But I see children out there who have never known Santa And breathe fear as they pray to their god that their lives will get better Give me my presents, the bigger the better Moan to your kids it's the wrong kind of weather Spend too much money, I know you'll feel better Tell me your news in a round robin letter Oh no, not again I've decked the halls and I've killed all the holly It's Christmas again I'm tired of being told it's a time to be jolly When I see children out there who have never known Santa And breathe fear as they pray to their god that their lives will get better Let's all get drunk I pour a whisky but the bottle is empty Drowned in plastic junk An obscene display in a world that has plenty When I see children out there who have never known Santa And breathe fear as they pray to their god that their lives will get better

Help me to face my darkest fears Hold me when I suppress my tears Teach me to know and to understand, when I may never find the answers by your hand Exorcise these ghosts, lest my soul obey Another's path, I've lost my way Why must I always feel this pain? Why do you taunt and show disdain? Cancel all these thoughtless games, while Rivers flow with tears denied  Rock this boat, or run and hide? Twist the blade and kill my grief Rue the day you entered my life I've lost my way Lost my way

What do you think of the world now As you lie beneath your scarlet blanket? Ten million little flowers mark the empty place, ripped apart, laid waste Intangible scar, locked in time Intangible scar, locked in time Did you cry, cry, cry for your mother As the stench of bloodied mud, the stench of bloodied mud Permeated your every breath? And in this place, did God walk beside you as you held onto life Only the tiniest thread between you and death? 1917 Did you cry, cry, cry for your mother  As the stench of bloodied mud, the stench of bloodied mud... Intangible scar, locked in time Intangible scar, locked in time 1917

Remember pictures in silver frames Forgotten faces, missing names Then I see you playing piano Never knew you played piano like me Oh Daddy Remember stories of the stage And people laughing, you entertained And they say you played piano And your father played piano like you Oh Daddy, play piano with me Oh Daddy, play piano with me Remember voices from the past On dusty tape reels, built to last But I never heard piano Close my eyes to hear piano from you Oh Daddy, play piano with me Oh Daddy, play piano with me Oh Daddy, play piano with me Oh, play piano with me

You feel kinda low now Try to forgive the flame that once burned in your heart You think how it's funny just trying to live But life had you right from the start Stuck in the middle Your mind goes its own way while your life takes another Piggy in the middle, you might say You're pulled in all directions Never have time to discover where your heart really lies But deep down you know it, you're not being true And who is this person called you? And your heart lies nearly silent now Beaten down by a life that you choose Hang on, hang on And don't let go If you heart falls silent will anybody know Or see it in your eyes? You are dead inside Extinguished by labours for all things material Life can be a riddle taking you its own way While you struggle against it Always in the middle day by day You plan your insurrection Knowing full well that it leads to your untimely demise But deep down you know it, you're not being true And who is this person called you? And your heart lies nearly silent now Beaten down by a life that you choose Hang on, hang on And don't let go If your heart falls silent will anybody know Or see it in your eyes? You are dead inside Extinguished by labours for all things material Bruised and broken in your mind Life has passed you by  And waved its last goodbye to tears that are hiding inside your soul You feel kinda low now Try to forgive the flame that once burned in your heart You think how it's funny just wanting to live But life had you right from the start Right from the start

Matthew 03:53
Small boy sitting in a crowded room Friends all around him, but he's all alone None of them can comprehend  Or take his pain, or help him mend But you know, Matthew, you will be OK in the end If you fly to him Fly to him, Matthew Fly to him, Matthew Fly to him, Matthew  As long as dragonflies are seen to fly Know that you will never, never need to cry 'Cause even though he's out of sight He's watching you, yeah, day and night And one day, Matthew, you will see him again And you'll fly to him Fly to him, Matthew Fly to him, Matthew Fly to him, Matthew  Matthew, the voices you're hearing are not him You think that he's calling, you're just trying to find him Don't be afraid now you know that he's gone He will live forever if you can move on And your mother's eyes will find him in you In you Till you fly to him Fly, Matthew Fly to him, Matthew Fly to him, Matthew

How long since I met you? You've been there all of my life I can never forget you You're my husband, and wife And I need you now Yes I need you now You're the worst kind of lover The kind I should hate Tempting me like no other I'm the fish to your bait, yeah And I need you now Yes I need you now So take off your coat now Want your taste on my lips But I know where you're going... Down on my hips So I'm saying goodbye now Thanks, but I'll pass Knowing you'll never leave me A lifetime on this perfect, farcical size 10 (right!) And I need you now

about

'Rejects and Misfits' is a selection of songs and pieces that never had a place anywhere but seemed like they should belong somewhere. This is that place. It includes songs that were intended to appear on the never released 'Pathos and Exaltation (Part 2)', and some early rejects from the work currently in progress, 'Threes'.
